-direct experiences with your communications, products, services and people
-indirect experiences through word of mouth, what the competition says about you, comments on the Web etc.
You can’t always control what other people say so it’s important to focus on the direct experiences you can control.
The challenge for most of our b2b clients is fully aligning all these direct experiences that touch customers and impact the perception of the brand. It is challenging because it involves many different groups of people with many different priorities. Fact is, everyone in your organization either adds to or takes away from the brand and reputation you’re building.
A helpful tip is to start thinking about the critical contact points with your customers, then defining the experience you want them to have. You need to look at the current experience they are receiving (or ask them about it) and develop plans to close the gap between expectations and reality.
