We believe one key goal of branding is what others have coined, creating a “category of one.” This is where you are the only name your target audience can think of that offers what you do. This might seem like a tall task but it is possible in any category. People pay $3 for coffee at Starbucks because their target market clearly views them as being in a category all their own. So, where do you sit in your targets preference set? Are you the only choice?
